Fingerprints’ match-on-chip biometric PC solution added to Microsoft’s approved vendor list (AVL) for Windows Hello Enhanced Sign-in Security
During 2021, Fingerprints received its first volume orders for our new biometric PC solution. Since then, a number of PCs with our sensor solution have been launched. In fact, three of the world’s five largest manufacturers of Windows PCs are integrating our technology in their products. To date, we have been able to announce Windows PC launches with our sensors in products by Dell, HONOR, Huawei and Xiaomi. We expect that we will be able to unveil more names of customers that use our technology in the near future.
The fact that our Match-on-Chip biometric PC solution has now been added to Microsoft’s approved vendor list (AVL) for Windows Hello Enhanced Sign-in Security means that we are now able to effectively address the entire PC market: Enterprise PCs as well as consumer PCs.
“In consumer PCs, biometric authentication is usually executed in the computer's CPU (so-called Match-on-Host). In the Enterprise PC segment, it is much more common to use Match-on-Chip, where the biometric data is stored on a separate chip, providing an even higher level of security. Match-on-Chip fingerprint solutions command a higher average selling price (ASP) and currently account for approximately half of the market and growing,” commented Ted Hansson, President Mobile, PC & Access China.
