Biometric smart card for the world’s first open-air casino
Hong Kong’s MeReal Biometrics has developed their 2nd generation biometric smart card launching it at the Pleinair Casino in the South of France. The card uses a smaller and faster fingerprint sensor and can be used both in contact and contact-less modes but also a new and revolutionary third way - using the acoustic signature generated by the card on any device with a microphone including the world’s 9 billion phone lines (from smartphones to fixed landlines). Initially the casino’s employees will use the cards to gain access as well as record time and attendance without the hassle of remembering passwords or the need to show any form of ID. The casino will add more applications for both employees and players in the future.
