Processors

FPC has designed several generations of biometric processor ASICs optimised for FPC's own sensors. The processors act as a biometric sub-system with a direct interface to the FPC's sensors as well as to external flash memory for storing templates.

All FPC's processor ASICs are built around a hardware support for the advanced and power consuming steps in running an algorithm. To optimize speed and to minimize power consumption, the calculation intensive parts of the algorithm executed in FPC's processors are executed in a hardware design. This makes FPC's processor ASICs very fast and accurate without the disadvantage of high power consumption and high price.

The straightforward implementation also shorten the development time and time to market.
