Modules

The modules feature FPC's rugged fingerprint sensors with its superior thick protective coating, which prevents the user from touching the sensor surface. The coating also protects the sensor against ESD well above 15 kV and wear-and-tear. The sensor has a acknowledged very high image quality that utilizes all 256 gray scale values in each pixel.

The module can be built in to an application and be controlled by a host sending commands via the serial interface. It is also possible to connect the module directly to a PC. Fingerprint templates are created by the module and can be stored directly in the module's internal flash memory. Templates can also be exported for external storage.

The module can be connected to a motherboard via a board-to-board connector or by using a standard ribbon cable.
